Pointe Shoes

Following on from soft demi-pointe shoes, dancers may be assessed by the teacher for full pointe shoes.

Pointe shoes can only be obtained via a professional pointe shoe fitting, which can be made by appointment at the following shops in Covent Garden:

Bloch

Freed

Capezio

After a successful pointe shoe fitting, dancers must bring the pointe shoes they were fitted for to ballet class for approval from their ballet teacher, before sewing the ribbons on. Once the ballet teacher has approved the fit of the shoe, dancers may sew on the ribbons. (If the teacher isn’t happy with the fit, shoes can be returned as long as the ribbons haven’t been sewn!)
